Rep. Kelly Hastings to Chair Finance & Transportation Committes

Raleigh, N.C. – Representative Kelly Hastings (R-Gaston) will chair the North Carolina House Committees on Finance and Transportation, according to an announcement from Speaker Tim Moore this week.

A fourth-term legislator who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserve, Rep. Hastings has represented Cleveland and Gaston County in the General Assembly since 2011.

Speaker Tim Moore released a statement on Rep. Hastings’ appointment to committee leadership roles:

“As a Finance Committee chairman with private sector experience, Rep. Hastings will maintain the House’s commitment to historic tax reforms that produced big budget surpluses for North Carolina the last two years.”
