Speaker Moore calls decision “outrageous”
Raleigh, N.C. – State House Speaker Tim Moore responded to breaking news Friday evening that a Democrat trial judge in Wake County invalidated the voice of North Carolina voters who approved constitutional amendments for voter ID and a lower tax cap in November.
“We will fight for North Carolinians’ voice in support of voter ID and a lower income tax cap,” Moore said. “The people have spoken and this outrageous attempt to invalidate their decisions will be appealed.”
Thirty-four states have some form of voter ID law. North Carolina is the last state in the Southeast not to require some form of voter ID.
