State Employees Urge North Carolina Legislators to Support Compromise Budget

Raleigh, N.C. – The State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) urged state legislators Wednesday to support the compromise budget introduced by General Assembly leaders this week.

Most state employees will receive a 5% pay increase and five bonus days of leave in the budget.

“Our members spoke out in record numbers during this process,” said SEANC Executive Director Robert Broome.

“We ask that all legislators do the same by voting yes on the budget compromise.”

SEANC also supported the 2018 state budget, calling it “a plan that will make North Carolina a leader in terms of living wages for public employees.”

“For that, SEANC applauds the House and Senate leadership and look forward to working together for a long time to come,” Broome said in May of last year.
