Rep. David Lewis Reappointed House Rules Chairman

Raleigh, N.C. – Rep. David Lewis (R-Harnett) was reappointed to the powerful role of House Rules Chairman  for the 2017-2018 biennium of the North Carolina General Assembly.

As sole chairman of the Committee on Rules, Calendar and Operations of the House, Rep. Lewis is one of the most influential members of the North Carolina legislature.

Speaker Tim Moore issued a statement:

“I depend on Rep. David Lewis each day to oversee some of the most important work done here in the House of Representatives.  Not only is Rep. Lewis one of the hardest working members of the House, he is a compelling speaker and fierce advocate for the policy reforms passed under Republican leadership in North Carolina.”

“I am privileged to continue serving alongside Rep. Lewis and  reappoint him House Rules Chairman so we can build on our progress improving public policy for North Carolinians.”

Rep. David Lewis also issued a statement:

“I could not be more grateful for all those who have been a part of the journey to get me where I am today. I’m humbled by the support of my family, my friends, and the people of Harnett County for allowing me to continue to serve them in Raleigh.”

“I enjoy working with members to help them succeed. This role allows me to strongly advocate for the people of Harnett County, and while doing so aide other members of the General Assembly to improve the lives of their constituents through sound and prudent legislation.”

“I am excited to once again serve under the leadership of Speaker Tim Moore, and will continue to be an advocate for his vision of a more prosperous and vibrant North Carolina.”
