“North Carolina is Ready to Lead the Way Forward,” Speaker Tim Moore Says on Opening Day 2021

Raleigh, N.C. – State House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) said “North Carolina is ready to lead the way forward” in his Opening Day address of the 2021-2022 biennium of the North Carolina House of Representatives.

The North Carolina legislature’s successful economic and education reforms helped the state leap ahead in national rankings for business climate and school funding growth under Republican leadership last decade.

Speaker Moore also promised to maintain the General Assembly’s commitment to balanced budgets, pro-jobs policies, and reforms that improve state government services.

Entering his fourth term as Speaker of the North Carolina House, Moore said Wednesday that “Above all, we are committed to a system of government that represents justice for all North Carolinians.”

“Every person who calls our state home is represented here. They are each created equal with the same rights. This body is their forum, for spirited debate about the freedoms guaranteed for every North Carolinian.”

“They deserve leadership that fulfills the promise of the North Carolina Constitution. Its preamble calls ‘for the better government of this state.'”

“Thank you for answering that call today.”
