Speaker’s Newsletter: North Carolina Prepared for Emergencies

Raleigh, N.C. – North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore’s (R-Cleveland) weekly newsletter said the state General Assembly remains well-prepared financially to weather uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 and provide “a robust policy and economic response” to the emergency.

“With over a billion dollars remaining in rainy day reserves, even after historic spending on hurricane recovery. ..We are ready,” Speaker Moore wrote in his newsletter Friday.  

Speaker Moore said the General Assembly prioritized savings and smart spending to support North Carolinians in times of crisis and “help them weather this storm of uncertainty and emerge stronger than ever, together.”
