Raleigh, N.C. – State House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) responded Wednesday to the sham political impeachment of President Donald Trump, joining bipartisan opposition in Congress to a “previously inconceivable yet readily present abuse of power happening right now in our nation’s capital.”
Speaker Moore released the following statement:
“Today’s baseless impeachment vote was a sad travesty of Washington D.C. politicians’ worst instincts and a new low for radical leaders in the U.S. House, who are attempting to remove our duly-elected President because they cannot defeat him in an election,” Speaker Moore said.
“This is a previously inconceivable yet readily present abuse of power happening right now in our nation’s capital.”
“With hundreds of pressing issues facing the United States, Democratic leaders in the U.S. House have prioritized another attempted coup instead of passing better policy that benefits families and businesses.”
“President Trump’s continued success transforming our economy, improving international trade deals, and focusing on real issues facing Americans like illegal immigration are benefiting American families and businesses tremendously.”
“I urge our U.S. Senators to reject this latest shameless attempt to circumvent the American democratic process.”
