N.C. General Assembly Leaders Thank Voters for Strong Support of Republicans, Constitutional Amendments

Raleigh, N.C. – State House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) released a statement following election returns indicating Republicans would return a strong majority to both the North Carolina House of Representatives and Senate.

“North Carolina voters issued a clear mandate to continue Republican policies that are benefiting the workforce, improving schools, and delivering a pro-jobs agenda for families,” Moore and Berger said.  “We appreciate the strong support of our constituents and look forward to continuing our successful approach to making North Carolina the very best state in the nation.”

Moore and Berger also released a statement on the approval of four proposed amendments to the North Carolina Constitution:

“These were excellent proposals that drew strong bipartisan support to improve not only our state constitution, but the lives of millions of North Carolinians,” Moore and Berger said.  “The people of this state have made their preferences clear for a lower maximum tax, stronger rights for victims of crime, secure elections systems, and constitutional protections for fishermen and hunters who enjoy our outdoors.”
