$215 Million Fund for New School of Medicine at East Carolina University Highlighted by House Leaders Thursday

Speaker Moore, Majority Leader Bell, Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D., join House colleagues for tour of Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C.

Raleigh, N.C. – State House leaders will tour the Brody School of Medicine and the site planned for its replacement at East Carolina University on Thursday to highlight a $215 million state budget appropriation to build a new school of medicine on the campus in Greenville, N.C.

The new School of Medicine at ECU is part of a nearly $2 billion commitment to education capital construction across North Carolina in the bipartisan budget approved by the state General Assembly and vetoed by the Governor. 

East Carolina University officials also broke ground on a $90 million Life Sciences and Biotechnology Building this month funded through the Connect NC Bond referendum passed during Speaker Moore’s first term in 2016.
