Kings Mountain, N.C. – An international chemicals science company will add 170 new jobs in Kings Mountain and 30 in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a $10.5 million investment.
Albemarle Corporation will pay an average salary of $78,000 for new positions at its Kings Mountain operations center that produces components for energy, transportation and communications industries.
North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore, a Kings Mountain native who represents the city in the state General Assembly, released a statement:
“The North Carolina House is committed to providing an excellent business climate and economic investment tools that attract high-quality jobs,” said House Speaker Tim Moore.
“I’m excited to welcome Albemarle Corporation’s expansion and appreciate their strong presence in my community.”
Albemarle Corporation currently has close to 150 employees in its Kings Mountain facility and about 130 employees at its Charlotte business headquarters.
The new jobs were part of an economic incentive agreement with the state’s Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) program that is funded by the state General Assembly.
